Becoming a stay-at-home mom is one of the hardest things I have ever done. Pouring into a tiny human all day can leave anyone depleted. But we all know that no one can pour from an empty cup. So, I had to become strategic about self-care.

I began to wake up before everyone, when the house is still quiet, pour myself a tall cup of iced coffee, and open my bible. This became the most peaceful time of my day. These mornings are ideal, no rushing around the second my feet hit the floor. I can ease into my day slowly with Jesus at the forefront.

I had to be intentional about not waiting until I was burnt out before I did anything for myself, not just from a spiritual standpoint, but in practical ways as well. This meant finding joy and appreciation in the little things. If you're anything like me, it does not take all that much, perhaps a new devotional, a pair of fuzzy socks, or a cute mug. This is what I want to provide for you--a nice "treat" that reminds you to start your day with the ultimate self-care routine: Jesus & Iced Coffee (or whatever your beverage of choice is, as long as you're sitting at the feet of Jesus).
